We offer a comprehensive travel medicine consultation. This includes the following aspects:
In principle, both travel medical advice and travel vaccinations are not covered by health insurance. However, almost all health insurance companies now cover some or all of the costs. Please contact your health insurance company for more information prior to the consultation. As a rule, however, the costs must be prepaid by the client.
Our psychiatric consultation hours are open to all interested patients. The treatment offered addresses almost the entire spectrum of psychiatric illnesses; the therapeutic and diagnostic questions are correspondingly diverse and concern not only psychiatric acute treatment. Specialist support for chronic illnesses, questions of medical rehabilitation, therapy for dependency disorders and psychiatric co-treatment for other (e.g. psychosomatic or neurological) illnesses play a major role in the consultation hours. We advise on further outpatient, inpatient or day-care treatment options and arrange contacts with counseling centers, specialized services or self-help groups.
We cooperate with providers of assisted living, outpatient and inpatient care facilities, psychiatric day care centers, occupational therapy practices and addiction support facilities. In our practice in the Kreuzberg-Friedrichshain district, young adults make up a relatively high proportion of our patients. The catchment area of the practice extends beyond the Berlin city area. The psychiatric consultation is conducted by Andreas Mertens - a specialist in psychiatry. We offer appointment hours; you can make an appointment by telephone. For this purpose, please contact our staff for the neurological area of the MVZ. Our staff will also inform you about the organization of open consultation hours. For capacity reasons, we can only accept a limited number of new patients at a time. Unfortunately, we cannot offer psychotherapeutic consultation hours or treatment at this time. We try to keep waiting times as short as possible. Psychiatric consultation hours can be held in English or French if necessary. We ask for your help in organizing the consultation hours by canceling your appointment in good time and arranging an alternative appointment if you are unable to attend.
The neurological consultation is conducted by Susanne Vogel, specialist in neurology. We offer diagnostics, treatment and consultation for neurological symptoms and clinical pictures affecting the nervous system, e.g. strokes, epilepsies, movement disorders, paralysis, disorders of consciousness, etc.For further clarification, we recommend special examination methods, presentation in special outpatient clinics or specialized practices and provide the entire spectrum of therapy options (medication, physiotherapy and occupational therapy, neuropsychological therapy, speech therapy). Our neurological consultation focuses on the treatment of HIV-associated diseases of the nervous system, epilepsies and the consequences of severe brain damage. Please bring your insurance card and previous findings with you on your first visit. This includes hospital reports, MRI/CT images, laboratory findings, and information on medications taken. This will help us to assess your symptoms.
